What in the world has happened to America? The most recent action is by the Veteran's Administration censoring God out of funerals at a Houston cemetery. It is almost hard to believe what is going on in our country, yet almost on a daily basis we are shocked by pseudo "legal" or government action aimed at attempts to take God out of every aspect of American life. This was NEVER intended by our Founders, in fact just the opposite. There were thousands of references by them stating or inferring that God is foundational to our country. This does not mean religious rule, what it does mean is always recognizing that our very existence as a nation, as a people, is dependent upon God.
The oft used words, "separation of church and state", contrary to what many believe do not even appear in the Constitution or Bill of Rights. These words were derived from a letter by Thomas Jefferson to Danbury, Connecticut Baptists in 1802 that stated "... contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between Church & State." In that same letter Jefferson wrote, "I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and Creator of man." This should leave no doubt where he stood. The purpose of his letter was to assure the Baptists that the government would not hinder or interfere with their right to practice their Baptist religion.
The words "separation of church and state" were derived from a Supreme Court decision in 1947 in the case of Everson vs. Board of Education. The case was brought by a New Jersey resident against a school district that provided reimbursement to parents of both public and private (religious) schooled children taking the public transportation system to school. How this got distorted to the extent of taking God out of all aspects of American life....how we have allowed this to happen....is beyond comprehension. This was NEVER the intention of our Founders.
What we have now occurring in America is the continuing violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution, the Free Exercise Clause, by "prohibiting the free exercise thereof", of religion. Individual rights of those opposed to any form of religion can be respected while at the same time not wiping out God entirely from every aspect of American life which now seems to be the intent.
Most importantly it is a grave error for the United States not to recognize God as being foundational to our great country, and as being vital to our very survival as a nation.

Bernanke, The Fed, Hurting Economy
Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, is artificially suppressing interest rates for both savings and loans to ridiculously low levels. In some twisted thinking on economics they somehow think that this helps, rather than facing the reality of true inflation. Somehow the Fed feels that manipulating numbers is a better way to manage the economy rather than supporting business and people, and dealing with reality. They look at only one side of the equation in believing that artificially suppressed interest rates will stimulate investment and the economy. Yet those who invest are holding back specifically due to the economy and the uncertainty. What they don't look at is that these very low rates actually hurt banks and individuals, particularly seniors. Banks are being forced to walk the fine line of financial viability, their margin of error is very slim. Individuals have less money from their savings to spend on those extra items they may need. Banks are placed in financial jeopardy, less money flows into the economy. Seniors, in particular, are being placed into a financial stranglehold.
It makes no sense to make interest rates artificially low when true inflation is running about 10 to 15%. What could be more fundamental than food? In shopping for groceries people are experiencing well over a 20% increase, some say higher. Since January 2009 the average cost of gasoline has increased by over 60%. Mysteriously, real estate taxes have increased in spite of home values decreasing in a depressed housing market. Federal, state, and local taxes, fees, as well as many hidden taxes and fees, have increased. Home heating, electric, and energy costs have increased significantly. Health Insurance has increased dramatically, in some cases by as much as 40 to 56%, with a doubling of co-pay, or more. Most "necessary" items that we purchase to live by have increased significantly. This is the real world that the American people experience in their everyday purchases. Inflation is NOT flat. As one woman recently commented: "What planet do they live in?"
China is actually doing a much better job of managing their economy than the United States. In dealing with reality, they have recently announced raising interest rates for the second time in slightly more than a month. This pushed the benchmark one year deposit rate to 3%, and their lending rate to 6.06%. This is dealing properly with reality and managing the economy! The United States, should right now be at about these same levels of interest rates.
Reality, not manipulation, should be the approach taken by our federal government to begin fixing our economy. Being honest about inflation and rational interest rates are a part of this.

One World Gov't, The Bilderbergs, And The Destruction of America
Whether you are a democrat or republican, a moderate or tend more toward the extreme, you should be deeply concerned about our future. In 1954 a meeting was held at the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeek, Holland. The chairman was Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, with David Rockefeller also taking a lead role. Since then this elite global group meets at least annually, cloaked in secrecy. It has become known as the Bilderberg Group. Attending these meetings have been future presidents of the United States; heads of state and royalty from other countries; members of US Congress and high ranking US government officials; heads of, and high level people from the Federal Reserve Bank, the Word Bank, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF); CEO's of some of the world's largest corporations; heads of, and CEO's of some of the world's leading newspapers and media sources; more recently heads of Internet related companies; and representatives of some of the leading educational institutions. This is not "conspiracy theory", it is fact that your should check out for yourself.
In a free and democratic country like the United States there should be NO place for regular high level secret meetings attended by very influential Americans, world elite, and government officials. Yet they take place at least annually.
While Americans, for the most part, are used to a good standard of living, with many conveniences and comforts, nice cars, the ability to relax and watch sports, take vacations, and generally enjoy life, something is going on unsuspectingly behind the scenes. We can already see some strong signals and signs of it, but most people, being spoiled as we are, feel that this will all pass. We are America!
The elite behind the Bilderberg Group have an objective. Again, do your own research. Their objective is to form a one world government. The middle class would disappear, and there would be only one, elite, ruling group who make all the decisions. Their goal is unbelievable wealth, power and control. The rest of us would essentially be their slaves, strongly controlled and taken care by the ruling elite at some lower level of existence. Our freedoms, that we now take for granted, would be gone. Our very existence would be a miserable one, but it will be too late to do anything about it. They will have in place an army and police to keep us strictly in line. Make no mistake about it, the people behind the Bilderberg Group are ruthless and have no regard, whatsoever, for human welfare and human life.
Step by step, since 1954 they have been incrementally approaching their goal. It is now occurring at an even faster rate. For those with their eyes wide open, the signs are all there, as clear as can be. The Bilderbergs use issues such as feminism, global warming, race, gay and lesbian rights, religion, morality, immigration, etc. as a wedge to divide people, and create confusion. On many of these issues, they could care less, they are used to divide people. They will either cause a crisis on purpose, or exploit a crisis. They have been more than influential in selecting and manipulating things in order to elect US presidents and other positions of political influence. More than that, they stack the deck so that Bilderberg people, or those they approve of, are in high ranking positions in government. This happens not only in the United States, but throughout the world. Through this they set world direction, nearly everything major that happens has their stamp on it. For us "little people" who get all caught up in the issues from the republican, democratic, left, or right sides, to the Bilderbergs it makes no difference...they control ALL sides. If a republican president gets elected, they are fully covered. If it is a democrat, they are covered. They have all the bases covered in moving toward their one world government goal.
To the average, intelligent, and aware person, many things we see that are happening in the United States do not make sense. We often shake our heads in disbelief, or cast it off to the corrupt or unintelligent politicians. Yet the sure signs are there. In Europe it was felt that forming a European Union was next to impossible with not only the strong nationalistic feelings, but the actual animosity that existed between some of the nations. Nonetheless, it happened. The Bilderbergs had their people in the highest levels of government, manipulated, and MADE it happen. Think about it. Their next objective is to form a North American Union, ultimately an American Union.
The United States was too big, too strong, too wealthy, too free, too democratic, and too independent for it to happen easily. Yet here again the Bilderbergs have their people in the highest levels of government and other places of influence in America. At the same time through their control of global organizations they have the ability to influence the country externally. They set out to destroy America from within. This has NOTHING to do with a political party, they control both major parties, and all parties.
Any group of intelligent leaders can come up with a good and common sense immigration policy that is fair to all and good for America. Yet the Bilderbergs favor immigration anarchy and that is exactly what we have. Good and logical leaders know that out of control spending and massive debt will destroy America. Yet the Bilderbergs are making sure that our economy is in shambles. The greatest strength of the United States has always been manufacturing and industry. Yet the Bilderbergs have manipulated things so that we have given up much of this great strength that could keep our economy, not only alive, but booming. We make very little any more, we have become a dependent nation.
Financially disastrous housing loans; continual and increasing energy dependence when we have the ability to be completely independent; the creation of a welfare / nanny state; the erosion of education; the increase of personal bankruptcies, crisis after crisis, etc., etc. You can bet that the Bilderbergers have their fingers in it all. Their objective: Bring down America and form a dependent American Union as a major step toward a one world government.
This is serious. Dead serious. For all those who love America, our Constitution, our democracy, our sovereignty as a nation, all of our freedoms, our blessed and comfortable lives...this is all about to change. It is well on its way at an accelerated pace to change to a situation where we have nothing but a miserable existence under autocratic and elitist rule. It will collapse and happen seemingly overnight.
We have one small window of opportunity and time to do something and do something NOW. It can't wait or it will be too late. Cast off whether you are a democrat or republican, a liberal or a conservative, or a libertarian. The key issue you need to think about is whether you want to be a slave of the one world government, or you cherish what you have now...all the freedoms and abilities to do and accomplish what you want in life. If you don't act now, all this will go away.
What the Bilderbergs fear the most is exposure and the organized rejection of them by the masses. This is why you don't read about the Bilderbergs in the newspapers and hear about them in the media. They control all of them so that they can operate in secrecy until it is too late for all of us. In a peaceful way, we all need to speak up and speak up loudly. We need to protest as to what is going on. Trust your instincts, I know you can sense it. Break from your now comfortable life and get active in order to protect what we have and avoid becoming the slaves of a one world government. You know what to do. DO IT! Our future and that of your children and grandchildren depend upon it.

Save Cathedral High School, Letter to Bishop

Dear Bishop McDonnell:
The recent tornado that damaged Cathedral High School is both a tragedy and an opportunity. No greater investment can be made by the diocese than that concerning young people given the opportunity to receive an excellent Catholic education. This continuum of thousands of good Catholic (and non Catholic) youth going out into the Greater Springfield area, and indeed, out into the world, is an enormous benefit to society and to Catholicism. This is particularly true today where deep religious faith and values, as obtained through Cathedral, are desperately needed. There has been a long and distinguished number of graduates who have gone on to be standout people in their professions and their communities.
As one woman recently told me: "I sent all of my children to Cathedral and I know other people who have done the same. Some sacrifice a vacation, buying a new car, or other things, just to send their children to Cathedral."
The tragedy of the tornado would be multiplied if it were ever decided NOT to either rebuild Cathedral High School or build a new high school. In essence it would be an abandonment of our youth and an abandonment of a great deal of Catholicism in our area. I come from a business background and am very familiar with necessary business decisions concerning the diocese and can fully understand, as difficult as it can be, such things a closing and combining churches. In my mind this is totally different since it would mean that the diocese would take a step to cease investment in our youth, and to an extent, cease investment in the Catholic faith in our area. This is to say nothing about the frightful thought of sending Cathedral students to public schools in their current state today.
I can assure you that you will be given 200% support if you decide to re-build or build a new Cathedral. It would be a tremendous positive message and I urge you to do so. There is no question that the support that you will receive, monetarily and otherwise, would be overwhelming. This would include alumni, parents, grandparents, all Catholics in the area, as well as friends of Cathedral.
I would be very glad to volunteer to support, with time, effort, organization, fund raising, financial support, and in any other way that I can in order to re-build or build a new Cathedral High School. Your recent announcement to head Cathedral toward an "Academy" status was well received and it is my hope that this will also continue.

Obama's Record Speaks For Itself
In the real world when a new leader takes over in a turn-around situation he has about 3 months to blame the former administration. Most do not even do that but take the high road and get on with the task at hand. Within 6 months the new leader is expected to have a specific identified plan, with ongoing visible tracking in place. After 1 year the new administrator "owns" the situation and should show significant progress gained toward the turn-around goals. If the new administrator does not accomplish this, he is fired. This is the real world.
On President Obama's Inauguration Day the National Debt was $10.626 trillion. It is currently $14.410 trillion, an increase of $3.784 trillion in his 3rd year in office. His own administration projected that the debt would reach $16.5 trillion in his fourth year, or an increase of $5.9 trillion in debt. His current budget is $3.73 trillion, the largest in history. Built into that budget is a $1.7 trillion deficit, the largest deficit in history. This coupled with interest on the National Debt of over $400 billion per year will guarantee a National Debt of well over $16.5 trillion. Further, the 2012 budget depends on built in tax increases. Currently $1.16 trillion of our National Debt is held by China, a Communist dictatorship.
When Obama presented his Stimulus package he promised unemployment under 8%, even under 7%. Yet according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, since the passing of the Stimulus, 1.8 million jobs have been lost, 1.3 million in the private sector. In addition, 989,000 people have given up looking for work. Still further, several million people have taken lesser jobs in order to survive. The most recent unemployment rate has been reported as 9.1 %. It goes without saying that Obama's Stimulus is a complete failure.
According to the Case-Schiller Index, the housing crisis has reached double-dip. Data showed that the US National Home Price Index fell 4.2% during the first quarter of 2011, following a previous quarter fall of 3.6%. More than 28% of homeowners are "underwater" on their mortgages with 2.9 million losing their homes to foreclosure in the last year alone. Correspondingly, home prices have plummeted.
America’s balance of trade with China, Mexico, Japan and Germany plummeted more than $10 billion into the red during the first quarter of 2011, according to new figures from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.The worst imbalance is with China. The resulting U.S. trade deficit with China is $60.20 billion in the first quarter of 2011 alone. The next largest American deficits for the quarter were $16.33 billion with Mexico, $16.28 billion with Japan, $11.00 billion with Germany and $9.63 billion with Canada. This is all after Obama promised to "increase our exports".
All this is just a sampling of facts on the economy since President Obama has been in office. He now "owns" the economy. In the real world Obama would have been fired long ago.

"Never Again" Needs Re-Affirmation
At the end of World War II the cry across the world was "Never Again" in reference to the Holocaust and the inhuman murder of over 6 million Jews by the Nazi's...men, women, and children. Not only was there murder, but other atrocities such as medical experimentation on Jews. US soldiers who liberated some of the concentration camps referred to it as indescribable horror. At the time there was a worldwide commitment to never have such a thing happen again. "Never Again" became the motto.
Yet here we are just 66 years later and there is wide spread anti-Semitism across Europe, certainly across the Mid-east, and it is also becoming wide spread across the United States. Further, Israel, a loyal friend and ally of the US, and a free and democratic nation in the midst of dictatorial regimes gets constantly criticized. Terrorist acts are committed against Israeli civilian populations; threats are made to annihilate them off the face of the map, and yet it is Israel who gets criticized. The groundswell of anti-Semitism is again being allowed to flow just as it was in Europe and Nazi Germany prior to the Holocaust. Whatever happened to "Never Again"?
All should be ashamed. Most alarming, however, are the voices, actions, and voting of European and American Jews. They criticize Israel instead of supporting her when there are obvious acts of terrorism against the Jewish nation. They vote, almost in block, for parties that support ideologies against the Jewish faith, and that are anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic. It is like they are spitting in their own face. Why?
It is time for all people to again re-commit to "Never Again" and not allow the groundswell of anti-Semitism to continue. It is time for Jewish Americans not to allow themselves to be herded, in block, toward ideologies that violate their Jewish religion, and amount to nothing short of being anti-Semitic.

Why We Should NOT Raise Debt Ceiling
It is time for America to suffer the consequences of our actions. This is called responsibility. Both parties of Congress are guilty of out of control spending that has our great nation on the brink of bankruptcy. Our national debt is a massive $14.4 trillion, with a current budget that guarantees at least another $1.7 trillion of debt. Couple that with an annual interest of over $400 billion and overnight we will be over $16.5 trillion in debt. We will be well on our way to over $20 trillion of debt in just a few short years. This should be acceptable to no one.
Not only are we well on our way to bankruptcy, it is a threat to our national security and our survival as a nation. China, a communist dictatorial ruthless regime, and an enemy of the United States, now holds a whopping $1.16 trillion of our debt and this will only increase dramatically. How in the world can this be good and healthy for the United States? Think about what we are doing!
The threat is that if we don't raise the debt ceiling that the sky will fall. Let it! The current generation who voted our "leaders" into national office deserve to suffer the consequences of our actions and go through any crisis that comes with it. The alternative is to stick our heads into the sand and push the problem and burden onto the next generation...our children and grandchildren. Nothing could be more cowardly and obnoxious.
It is time to face responsibility and consequences. It is time to stop the out of control spending. It is time to put America back on the right path of fiscal responsibility. It is better to let the sky fall and reconstruct it, rather than push the sure and total failure of America, irresponsibly, onto the next generation. This should not be a partisan issue. It is just plain common sense.
