US Making Major Strategic Error on Iran

The United States is making a major strategic error on Iran. First, we are failing to speak up strongly in support of the people of Iran for their freedom. America that has been the symbol of freedom and democracy since the forming of our nation. The people of Iran are braving beatings, tear gas, and even death and we remain relatively silent in fear that it will anger those who are the oppressive leaders? The people of Iran look toward the United States, even many of the signs that they carry in the streets are in English, pleading for our voice, yet it has been absent. To show the fallacy of our lack of action Iran's "Supreme Leader", Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, led the chant for the "Death to America" in a recent prayer meeting. The corrupt and illegitimate President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has also used this phrase many times against the United States. So much for our current path of appeasement. It will go nowhere.

By failing to speak up in support of the people of Iran we are missing an important window of opportunity that may lead to a change in the regime. This is extremely critical since Iran is the lynchpin of the entire Mid East. Iran has been sponsoring terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have also been a major supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah, terrorist organizations who have prevented peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Just imagine if this major source of terrorism in the Mid East were neutralized! Like no time in recent history this would allow an opportunity for peace in the entire Mid East.

Our lack of leadership at this critical time is a major strategic error, not only for the United States, but for the entire world.
